On Sunday 18 October, the Estadio Municipal Bicentenario Germán Becker in Temuco woke up pink. From 8am, two thousand people came together to run and walk in a new edition of Muévete x Nosotras, the breast cancer run organised by Clínica ICOS Inmunomédica.
Vivencias Travel was there. Not as a spectator, but as part of the team handing out the prizes to the first across the line.
A run that is not about running fast
There were three distances — 3, 5 and 10 kilometres — set up so that anyone could take part: people who train every week, and people who had not put on running shoes in years. That is exactly the point.
"Get ready for a day full of energy, sport and purpose. This 18 October 2026 we meet again for a new edition of Muévete x Nosotras, a run designed for everyone, where every step is a message of awareness, prevention and self-care." — Clínica ICOS Inmunomédica, organisers
The underlying message is the one specialists repeat every October: early detection changes the outcome of breast cancer. A run is no substitute for a mammogram, but it fills a square with people talking about it — and that counts too.
Why we were there
Because people are what we do. We have spent more than fifteen years travelling with groups, and if we have learned anything it is that behind every traveller there is a family. Breast cancer reaches many of those families: a mother, a sister, a teacher, someone on the team.
That is why we went. We have an office in Temuco and many of the classes that travel with us come from schools in La Araucanía, so this is our city and these are our people.
On the podium we handed the winners their prize with the giant Vivencias cheque, with the same excitement we feel waving off a class heading out on their trip. Seeing two thousand people moving for a cause like this, on a Sunday at eight in the morning, is one of those things that reminds you why it is worth showing up.
Thank you
To Clínica ICOS Inmunomédica for organising it, to the two thousand people who got up early on a Sunday, and above all to those who ran for someone. See you at the next edition.
